Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the most sacred time in the Christian calendar. As we remember Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, the crowds greeted Him with joy, waving palm branches and shouting “Hosanna to the Son of David!” It was a moment of glory and praise, where Jesus was recognized as the promised King. Yet, this celebration also leads us to the sobering reality of the Passion.
The liturgy of Palm Sunday invites us to reflect on the fullness of Christ’s journey. The same crowds that shouted “Hosanna” would soon turn and cry, “Crucify Him!” As we hold our palms, we are reminded not only of Jesus’ triumph, but also of His willingness to face the Cross for our salvation. His suffering, His love, and His sacrifice speak to the depths of God’s mercy for us.
This day calls us to prepare our hearts, embracing both the glory of His kingship and the humility of His sacrifice. May we enter this Holy Week with reverence, reflecting on the Passion of Christ, and anticipating the joy of His Resurrection.
